Baby Shower, etc.

Who doesn't love a diaper cake?

Favors my mom put together:

Proof that baby Wyatt is spoiled already:

The adorable cake & cupcakes Michelle's mom made:

I would post more photos, but I look like a complete chubster. All in all the shower was a great time. It was so nice to have (almost) all of my friends in one spot together. My mom came up with some entertaining games, and we received more generous gifts than I was prepared to sort out and find space for!
In other pregnancy news, I discovered a couple nights ago the very faint beginnings of some stretch marks on my belly. I won't lie, I felt like crying a little. I was hoping to escape without any, but I guess putting on 25+ pounds is bound to do that to a lady.
Time seems to be going by a bit quicker now. As of tomorrow I am only 8 weeks from my due date, which is absolutely crazy. I am pretty anxious to meet the little man. I am also hoping I can keep working as close to my due date as possible, but I have noticed a marked increase in lower back pain by the end of my shifts lately. Hopefully it doesn't become too bothersome.
Bringing home all the gifts from the shower really got me started with the "nesting" process, if you will. I've been busy trying to organize everything for Wyatt, wash the new clothes and blankets so they are ready to be used for whenever he comes, figure out what we still need to buy before he's here, and make sure things are in order like finding a pediatrician. Busy busy!

How far along: 31 weeks, 6 days
Baby is the size of: a squash, still
Weight: 170 (27 lb. gain)
Cravings: still have a low appetite lately, though I can't help myself from going back to cut a slice off from the cake from the shower

Final Stretch

Three-quarters of the way there:

I should probably be in bed right now since I am working a 12 hour shift tomorrow, but my brain is refusing sleep, so instead I find myself updating. Today marks 30 out of 40 weeks completed (assuming Wyatt doesn't come early, or worse, late). It is also my and Michael's 3 year anniversary since we started dating. Crazy how much life can change in such a short time. Just 3 years ago we began dating, 2 years ago we got engaged, and now we are married with a little man on the way. Life just keeps getting more interesting!
I find myself daydreaming a lot about what kind of person Wyatt will be. I think about what values I hope he will learn from us, and how to go about teaching them. I wonder if I will have to learn the rules of football so I can understand what's happening in his games as I watch from the sidelines, or if I will be tortured by incessant drumming in our garage some day. Will he be lucky enough to have Michael's nose? So many little questions to entertain my mind with.
Other than that, I have been trying to figure out the best balance of working to make money, while having the most time possible to be home. Luckily I have an amazing boss who is willing to work with me (at least until the summer season starts) so I can create a part-time schedule that will help prevent us from living off of ramen noodles, but still allow me to have time with my baby.
Next weekend is the baby shower! I am so excited to have (almost) all the girls together in one place. It feels like far too long since I've had a social life.
Ok, my brain is fried.
How far along: 30 weeks
Baby is the size of: a squash (almost 16" long, and 3 lbs.)
Weight: 168 (25 lb. gain - this was my original goal for the entire pregnancy, but it looks like that won't be happening)
Cravings: none lately. I feel as though I've actually been eating less. Trying to up my iron intake, however. Doctor's orders.
